All UCLC facilities are based on campus of the University Hospital of Giessen or in the immediate neighborhood.

The city of Giessen (72.400 inhabitants) is situated in Hessen, Germany’s fifth largest state with a population of 6 million and an area of 21.100 km2. With Frankfurt/Main only 60 km away, it profits from the proximity of Germany’s most influential financial center and the large international airport.

The UGLC is located in the South End of Giessen and is well connected by public transportation (bus and train). Using private transportation you will easily find the directions to the Hospital Campus („Universitätsklinik”) on city and interstate highways.

Once you have reached the UGLC, there are limited parking arrangements available. Following is a list of maps and other travel information to help you find us.

Deutsche Bundesbahn

Trains from Frankfurt, Koblenz, Kassel and Fulda directions frequently stop at the main trainstation of Giessen („Hauptbahnhof”)

Local Bus Transportation

Visit the Website of the RMV, the local Transportation Company, they have an excellent Connections Planner available in English. They also have an Online Service to find connections from or to the Frankfurt International Airport.

Travelling with the local bus transportation system you have the opportunity to reach the UGLC by getting off at the following associated bus stops: Klinikstrasse, Petruskirche, Frankfurterstrasse, Ludwig-Uhland Schule. Please get exact orientation on the campus map.

From Hannover/Kassel/Eisennach - A5

Exit A5 at „Reiskirchener Dreieck”, and follow A480 to Gießen/Marburg
Exit A480 at „Gießener Nordkreuz” to Gießen/Marburg
After approx. 500m turn right and merge onto A485 „Gießener Ring” in Gießen direction
Exit at A485 at „Bergwerkswald” and follow signs to highway B49 to Wetzlar/Dortmund
After 300m take exit „Uniklinikum/Gießen Kl.-Linden” and drive into Gießen
Follow the signs to „Uniklinikum”.

from Marburg - B3

Follow B3 to Gießen/Frankfurt, this merges into A485 „Gießener Ring”
Exit „Gießener Ring” at „Bergwerkswald” and follow highway B49 to Wetzlar/Dortmund
